  • Ancient Burial Ground: The First Church of Christ and the Ancient Burying Ground is a historic church and cemetery at 60 Gold Street in Hartford, Connecticut, United States. It is one of the oldest churches in Connecticut and the burial ground has some of the first settlers, Native Americans, Africans, and African Americans buried there.

Connecticut Science Museum

The Connecticut Science Museum offers various exhibits to see, activities to participate in with groups, and excursions to take. There are ticket discounts for students and Hartford Public Library card holders.

Harriet Beecher Stowe Center

The Harriet Beecher Stowe Center’s mission is to encourage social justice and literary activism by exploring the legacy of Harriet Beecher Stowe. The Center is located in Harriet Beecher Stowe’s house next door to Mark Twain’s house.

CT Museum of Culture and History

This museum houses exhibitions, a library, a research center, and a vast collection of more than 4 million manuscripts, graphics, objects, and artifacts. Student discounts offered.

Connecticut Old State House

Located in downtown Hartford, the Old State House served as a home to all three branches of the Connecticut state government from 1796 to 1878. Now it serves as a museum and gathering spot.

Mark Twain House

Famous American writer, Mark Twain, lived in Hartford, and you can visit his home which has since been restored next door to the museum. There’s a variety of tours you can take there and exhibits you can see as well.
