September

  • Midcareer Research Award applications due September 10.
  • Filekeepers and candidates for tenure-track reappointment meet with Dean of the Faculty before October 15.
  • Deadline for departments and programs to select a senior as current year’s President’s Fellow.
  • “Course roll” (copying current academic year courses to next year) takes place.

October

  • Completed files for candidates being considered for promotion to full professor due on October 1.
  • Filekeepers for non-tenure-track faculty contract reviews (for reviews due in spring) meet with Associate Dean and Special Assistant to the Dean of Faculty.
  • Departments/programs that have chairs/directors whose terms will expire at end of academic year provide recommendations to Associate Deans as to who will serve as new chair/director.
  • Scholarly packets of candidates up for tenure and promotion to associate professor sent to outside evaluators by October 1.
  • Scholarly packets of candidates up for reappointment sent to outside evaluators by October 15.
  • Evaluation forms for chairs/directors in 3rd or greater year of appointment sent to each member of that department/program (solicited every two years).
  • Course planning for next year academic year begins.

November

  • EPC proposals due November 1.
  • Advising week and Advance Registration for spring semester.
  • Application deadline for Ann Plato Fellowship (candidate deadline).
  • Opt in for fall online course evaluations.

December

  • Departmental nominations for Ann Plato Fellowship due to EPC.
  • Mid-year performance reviews of staff.

January

  • Visiting Faculty Member Review Forms for fall only faculty due in Dean’s Office (once fall course evaluations are available).
  • Deadline for spring requests for Fleischman Funds.

February

  • Schedules for next academic year finalized in the Course Management Console.
  • Deadline for new course proposals for fall courses.
  • Completed files (including scholarly and teaching materials) for candidates being considered for tenure and promotion to associate professors/tenure due February 1.
  • Completed files for non-professorial two-year contract reappointments due by February 1.
  • Completed files for tenure-track reappointments due February 10.
  • Reports of activities due in Dean’s Office from faculty returning from fall leaves.

  • Completed files for professorial contract reappointments and non-professorial contract reappointments (three or more years) due by March 1.
  • Evaluation forms for chairs/directors in 1st year of appointment sent to each member of that department/program.

April

  • Honors Day Ceremony – Academic Procession (May 2, 3:30 p.m.).
  • Scholarly packets of candidates up for promotion to full professor sent to outside evaluators by May 15.
  • Commencement – Academic Procession (May 18, 11:00 a.m.).
  • Staff performance reviews due.

June

  • Deadline to submit receipts for reimbursement of FYSM expenses to First-Year Program.
  • Visiting Faculty Member Review Forms due in Dean’s Office (once spring course evaluations are available).
