Research Instruction Program
Research librarians customize workshops for courses ranging from first-year seminars to graduate theses and independent studies. Faculty members can collaborate with librarians on developing research-specific learning goals for courses or assignments.
We typically hold our workshops in the Phelan Library Learning Center, a classroom that supports hands-on work with students. Alternatively, librarians can make presentations in classrooms. As a component of the workshops, librarians publish Course-Specific Research Guides. The guides extend the reach of the classroom, because librarians can embed steps in the research process within them, aligning the design of the guide with the design of particular assignments.
If you would like to arrange a workshop or other collaboration, please get in touch with one of the librarians.
