15-30 minutes

Students will be introduced to library spaces, resources, and collections and learn how research librarians support their academic success. They will come away with an understanding of the library’s importance as a place to study and socialize.

Objectives:

  • Locate & navigate the library website
  • Name different resources and services offered by the library (i.e. book lending, database access, study rooms, research support, 3-D printing, etc.)
  • Make an appointment with a librarian
  • Reserve a study room
  • Become familiar with library spaces & services

  • Go over the Student Library & Technology Essentials LibGuide
  • Go through parts of the LITS homepage
  • Show how to make an appointment with a research librarian and/or get all varieties of help in the LITC.
  • Guided physical tour of the LITC
  • Scavenger Hunt
  • Group Discussions
