Faculty Members Awarded Tenure, Promoted, and Granted Emeriti Status
The Trinity College Board of Trustees voted this semester to approve tenure, promotions, and status changes for several faculty members. Six faculty members were awarded tenure, three were promoted to full professor, and nine retiring faculty members have been granted emeriti status.
In her letter to the Trinity community following the Board’s February 2024 meeting, Trinity College President Joanne Berger-Sweeney said, “Our faculty is at the heart of designing—and leading—a distinctive, relevant liberal arts education built for the 21st century. We can’t celebrate their scholarship and teaching achievements enough.”
Berger-Sweeney added that at a reception during the Board’s April 2024 meeting, “We took time to honor our retiring faculty members, who had given much of themselves in service to Trinity and the academic enterprise.”
The following faculty promotions and status changes will go into effect July 1, 2024, unless otherwise noted:
