Trinity College students, faculty, and staff are finding ways to continue supporting the Hartford community, even while following social distancing rules during the COVID-19 pandemic, thanks to a remote volunteering initiative created by the college’s Center for Hartford Engagement and Research (CHER).

Brendan W. Clark ’21 spent several weeks searching through the digital archives of Trinity’s Watkinson Library to research his project, “Trinity College and the Influenza Pandemic of 1918,” which is now the first exhibit in the Watkinson Library Virtual Museum.

Rose Rodriguez ’15, M’18, Trinity’s first sustainability coordinator, has been doing her job remotely by connecting with students and others through Zoom and social media. The Trinity College Board of Trustees has approved the promotions to the position of associate professor with tenure of Ethan Rutherford, in English; Per Sebastian Skardal, in mathematics; and Reo Matsuzaki, in political science.
