Campus was in full bloom on May 1, as students make their way to classes for the last time in the spring 2024 semester.
Protests against the war in Gaza spread across college campuses nationwide, including one on Trinity’s campus May 2, where tents stood for eight nights. Two student groups met with the College administration, reaching an agreement to remove the tents.
Professors arrive at the chapel for the Honors Day ceremony on May 3.
Organizers of the Trinity Film Festival gathered for a photo on May 4, following an award ceremony. The annual festival featured short films by directors around the country, as well as several international entrants.
All manner of room decor is discarded by students at the end of the semester, including this stuffed hippo. Trinity’s Office of Sustainability promotes the “Ditch The Dumpster” program to encourage students to donate gently used items for reuse.
Maintenance work across campus began almost immediately after students who were not graduating this year departed for the summer. Included in the slate of updates is a renovation of the courtyards outside first-year dorms.
On May 11, the ballroom of the Connecticut Convention Center was packed for Trinity College’s Bicentennial Gala. The event celebrated the College’s 200th anniversary and raised money to help endow scholarships to the school.

Trinity’s Charter Day celebration on May 16 included the planting of a tree on campus, however inclement weather moved the event indoors. President Joanne Berger-Sweeney informed a disappointed Banty that the tree planting will take place at another time.
