Dear Members of the Trinity Community,

I am writing with a brief update on the progress of the Trinity College Presidential Search Committee. One of the highlights of this process has been the opportunity to listen to hundreds of alumni, students, faculty, and staff. Your passion, commitment, and aspirations for Trinity are inspiring and guide us in this most important endeavor.

Having cast a wide net with assistance from the search firm Spencer Stuart, I am pleased to confirm that we have narrowed our search to a select group of candidates.  These candidates have diverse backgrounds and currently serve in relevant leadership roles as college presidents, deans, and provosts, as well as other senior roles in academic administration. For all of their many differences, they share at least one thing in common: they all have expressed a strong desire to proudly and confidently serve as Trinity’s 23rd president and to help the College reach its full potential in our third century.

Naturally, this process is highly confidential, and we are limited by what we can share at this time. The Presidential Search Committee is confident that we already have met several leaders capable of meeting our high standards. We look forward to 2025 when we can celebrate the many accomplishments of President Joanne Berger-Sweeney and help her pass the baton to a new leader.

Your continued support of the College is essential to our future success. We welcome your feedback and encourage you to visit the Presidential Search website or to share your thoughts with [email protected]. In addition, Kate Durante, assistant vice president of human resources, will support the committee throughout the remainder of the search process.

This is an exciting time as we begin the 2024–25 academic year and continue our positive momentum as a community. I thank you again for your support.

Sincerely,

Lisa G. Bisaccia ’78
Chair of the Board of Trustees
