Dear Members of the Trinity Community,

It has been a busy two months for the Presidential Search Committee since President Berger-Sweeney announced her plans to retire from Trinity at the end of the 2024-25 academic year.

On behalf of the committee, I write to express how grateful we are for the many thoughts we received about the future of Trinity and the essential leadership qualities that will take our community into its third century. Throughout April and May, the committee engaged in a process of actively listening to our community about the strategic future of the College and the ideal profile of the next president. The committee heard thoughtful feedback from students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, current and former trustees, and friends of the College, and many of you reached out to a committee member directly to provide your thoughts. In addition to the dozens of meetings and live conversations the committee held, more than 1,100 Trinity community members submitted feedback using the online survey. It is clear that our community is passionate about Trinity’s future.

Today, following the Board of Trustees approval, I’m pleased to share the final presidential leadership profile incorporating the community input we received. I encourage you to share the profile among your own networks, and to submit nominations by emailing our search firm partner, Spencer Stuart, at [email protected]. Questions or inquiries about the process or job position may also be sent to that email address.

We deeply appreciate the time you took to offer your thoughts about the ideal qualities and experience that a seasoned leader should bring and about Trinity’s future. Spencer Stuart has begun the process of attracting and assembling a pool of strong, well-qualified candidates for this national search. We remain committed to leading a rigorous, inclusive, and iterative search that puts forth and vets compelling and impressive candidates who are well-qualified to lead Trinity deep into its third century—candidates who align with the core values of our liberal arts education with a proven ability to inspire positive impact.

I am happy to share that the search is off to a good start. I look forward to communicating further as the search progresses.

Sincerely,

Lisa G. Bisaccia ’78
Chair of the Board of Trustees
