Each year Quest offers students opportunities to experience extended trips during winter, spring or summer breaks.

Winter Break 2025

The Lower Canyons of Big Bend

This J-term, Quest will be traveling to Big Bend National Park to paddle between the boarder of the United State of America and Mexico! This 11-day experience will consist of 8 days in an extremely remote region of the Rio Grande and Big Bend National Park.  The trip will start on January 7th in El Paso, TX to purchase supplies and provisions before heading to Terlingua, TX and Big Bend. The eight day paddle trip will navigate the Lower Canyons region which is both remote and extremely beautiful. Students interested will need to fill out the Quest-winter break trip application and attend the mandatory canoe training sessions during the fall semester. Dates for pre-trip paddle skills sessions will be announced during the informational meeting held at the beginning of Oct.
