Dear Trinity Community,

As we prepare to return for the upcoming academic year, we wanted to share an update regarding the COVID-19 policy and protocols. Over the past four academic years, the Trinity community has worked together to navigate an unprecedented pandemic with diligence and care. Last May marked the end of the Public Health Emergency declarations issued by the World Health Organization and the federal government. As such, the College will now discontinue official COVID-19 policies accordingly.

While the current COVID subvariants are less prevalent and severe, COVID-19 remains present in our lives. Trinity remains a mask-friendly campus, and the community will respect any person’s decision to wear a mask. For health-related concerns, faculty members may also require masks in their designated instructional or classroom spaces.

We highly recommend that students and employees continue to follow CDC guidance and their healthcare provider’s advice for prevention and treatment of the virus. If you develop symptoms, exercise common sense: take a COVID-19 test and stay home if you test positive or feel ill. Students should work with the Health Center if they think they have developed COVID. Contact the Health Center for COVID tests and appointments Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Students should call (860) 297-2018 to consult or to schedule an appointment. Students who test positive after hours or on weekends should notify the Health Center by email at [email protected].

Employees are no longer required to notify Human Resources if they test positive but should proceed to notify their managers and use sick time to recover appropriately. As a reminder, Trinity also no longer requires its community members to stay updated with the COVID vaccine.

We are proud of how our community managed through the public health emergency. As we enter a new phase, we are certain that our collective efforts guided us to this point and continues to keep our campus a safe learning environment for all. We wish you a successful fall semester.

Sincerely,

Joe DiChristina,
Vice President for Student Success and Enrollment Management

Dan Hitchell,
Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer
