Obtaining Accommodations
Notifying the College of the presence of a disability and obtaining accommodations is the student’s responsibility.
- The student should go to this online application to request disability accommodations and upload supporting documents. Information on documentation requirements can be found here.
- After the online application and the documentation are submitted a staff member in the Student Accessibility Resource Center will send this information to a representative from the Counseling and Wellness Center and/or Health Center. Documentation will be reviewed and a determination will be made on any appropriate and reasonable accommodations. The application review process will take, on average, 3-5 business days, but may take longer during periods of high traffic.
- After a determination is made, a staff member in the SARC office will send an e-mail to the student’s Trinity e-mail to notify them about the status of their request. If accommodations are granted, the student will be asked to schedule an appointment to review the request, discuss the accommodations that have been granted, and explain other resources available to the student.
- It is the student’s responsibility to notify faculty of their accommodations no less than 10 days from when they would like their accommodations to take effect. If this is not done, accommodations may not be granted.
- The student should notify the Student Accessibility Resource Center if they are having any difficulties obtaining accommodations or if the accommodations they have received are not meeting their needs.
