Trinity Graduates Making a Difference

Paul Mounds Jr. ’07 has wanted to work in public service since his days as a political science major at Trinity. As the chief of staff to Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont, Mounds has played an integral role during an unprecedented crisis, helping to coordinate the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. With a passion for engaging in his community, Mounds—who while at Trinity was a counselor for Dream Camp and completed the Legislative Internship Program—began his career as the federal grants coordinator and press assistant for U.S. Rep. John B. Larson. He then worked in the offices of U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal and Gov. Dannel P. Malloy before serving as vice president of policy and communications for the Connecticut Health Foundation. He serves on boards and commissions in Greater Hartford and is one of the many Trinity alumni who live or work in the area and make significant contributions locally, regionally, and beyond.
