Trinity-Hartford Partnerships
Founded in 1998, Trinity’s Dream Camp, a summer camp and year-round academic mentoring program, provides a fun, safe, and educational environment for participating elementary school through high school students. Former Dream Campers and Trinity students serve as tutors, mentors, and counselors. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dream Camp has offered remote learning and programs to support the most critical needs of participating families, including the Dream Camp Relief Meals Initiative. Weekly meal care packages containing all the proteins, vegetables, and spices needed to create five different dinners each week—along with printouts of the recipes in English and Spanish and links to videos that demonstrate how to cook each meal—are delivered to the doorsteps of local families. Since March 2020, the Dream Camp team has delivered more than 10,836 meals. The recipients send pictures of the meals they create and show off their newly acquired culinary skills.
