European Art from 1785-1885: Revolution, Invention, Trade and Art
An introduction to modern sensibility from Romanticism to Impressionism.

The style and subject matter of art underwent a fundamental change from the dominant academic neoclassicism of 1785 to the unfinished aesthetic of Impressionism and Expressionism in 1885. The course will explore some of the most internationally known art ever made by artists like Goya, Géricault, Delacroix, Daumier, Courbet, Manet, Degas, and Van Gogh.
